Cuxton Signal Box
The signal box is Grade II listed, was built by the original South Eastern Railway in the late 1880s and according to Historic England still contains a lever frame dating from the 1890s. Although the signal box still serves its original purpose, all signals in the area have been converted to the colour light type. The signalman has the responsibility to shut the crossing gates manually. Note the faded Network Southeast red, blue and white on the nameplate!
