Whorn's Place, Cuxton (2)
Said to have been converted from the outbuildings of a grander 15th-century house. Much of the surviving brickwork appears early - consistent with a 16th-century date. The main entrance is on the south side, through a grand archway.

Whorn's Place, Cuxton (1)
According to the local volume of Pevsner (John Newman: 'The Buildings of England: West Kent and the Weald') a much grander house was built here in the late 15th century by a Sir William Whorne. That no longer exists, and the house in the picture was converted from a 16th-century outbuilding. The 'front' door overlooking the road appears little used. The road is the A228, and carries a lot of HGV traffic - air quality is pretty awful. The main approach to the house is from the south side, by way of a grand gateway - evidence of the scale of the original Whorn's Place.
