Autumnal scene at Coldrum Long Barrow
Coldrum Long Barrow is the finest and most complete of the Medway megalithic monuments. It predates Stonehenge by 1,000 years. More information and a picture of it in its heyday can be seen at https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/coldrum-long-barrow/features/coldrum-long-barrow-a-tomb-with-a-view and https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/coldrum-long-barrow/features/the-conundrum-of-coldrum-long-barrow-in-kent This autumnal scene is alongside the long barrow. Old Man's beard, which is also known as Traveller's joy, is prolific in hedgerows at this time of year. This was the day that the clocks went back and the first signs of autumn are showing.
