Town Square, Lenham
We stayed in Lenham in February 2005, when snow was falling every night and thawing by midday. The lovely cottage we stayed in was an old converted shop right on the High Street, and the wintry weather made the whole town very atmospheric. The snow ploughs coming through at 5am made a hell of a racket though!

St Mary's Churchyard, Lenham
John Newman in Pevsner's Buildings of West Kent and The Weald describes Lenham as "a village to be savoured". This is the view from St Mary's Churchyard towards Church Square and The Square which is the centrepiece of Lenham. To the east of the churchyard is open countryside.
