Sandway is a small hamlet, about half a mile from Lenham. Its main feature is a tunnel taking HS1 under Headcorn Road. This is Lenham Heath Road which in this direction leads, unsurprisingly, to Lenham Heath.

Private post box at Sandway
This is quite intriguing. I am not sure if someone collects the post and takes it to another red post box. Is it significant that it is green rather than red? It predates the selling off of Royal Mail. The house it is a part of is seen at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3913284 It must be tempting for someone in a hurry to post letters in these private post boxes without reading the details like with this example which is red - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3926741 Sandway is a small hamlet, about half a mile from Lenham. Its main feature is a tunnel taking HS1 under Headcorn Road.
