Services on the Thanet Way
The A299 Thanet Way has been greatly improved in recent years and in this area has been transformed from a suicidal three-lane road to dual-carriageway. This has reduced accidents and traffic hold-ups on sunny summer weekends. Whitstable is visible on the left.

Travelodge, near Highstreet, Kent
On the north side of the Thanet Way, this motel is designated the 'Canterbury Whitstable' branch. Although it is in neither place, I imagine the title is chosen to attract travellers bound for those more desirable destinations.

BP Petrol Station on A299 Thanet Way
This is a response to Penny Mayes' Image and Philip Perry's Image, taken from the A299 main carriageway and looking north-northeast at the BP petrol station on the opposite side of the road to Philip's photo of the Shell petrol station.
