All Saints church, Graveney
The church stands next to a large farm and its associated cottages, the rest of this small community, including the primary school is about 200 metres down the road to the south. The whole community is surrounded by marsh, no longer tidal since the sea wall was built in 1325. The church stands about 12 metres above sea level and the land rises to the south and west.

Memorial in All Saints Church, Graveney
John Newman in Pevsner's Buildings of England 'North-east and East Kent' describes All Saints thus: "The church is a rarity in Kent, and would be a rarity in any county, except perhaps Norfolk; for it is not only delightfully unrestored, but is worthwhile also as architecture and contains objects beautiful in their own right." This memorial on the north wall shows again the high infant mortality in the early 19th century with four infants dying between 1826 and 1833 aged 13 days, 11 months, 30 days and 13 months.
