War Memorial Garden, Faversham
Situated in Stone Street opposite the cottage hospital, this proved to be a controversial project. The original war memorial, Grade II listed, is on the corner of Roman Road at the western end of the new garden. The latter replaced a flower filled small garden with seating, maintained by volunteers and used by patients from the hospital, their visitors and other members of the public. The stone slabs are inscribed with the names of the fallen from both world wars but are so pale it is difficult to read them.
