Frog in garden pond in Davington, Faversham
This giant invader, I suspect, has already had a meal off the little common frogs. I'd be glad if anyone can identify it. Could it be a marsh frog as we get plenty of those near Faversham and Oare creeks?

The parents are regular visitors to feed on niger seeds, then they brought their young who insisted on being fed. Now this one has become independent.

Priory Road, Davington
Priory Road was named after the nearby Davington Priory. Davington Priory was founded in 1153 for a prioress and her 26 Benedictine nuns, but unlike most monasteries was not dissolved by Henry VIII. It just petered out in 1535 when the last nun died. Without an owner it became the property of the Crown. Henry promptly sold it and the buildings remained in private ownership for nearly 400 years. What survived of the nuns' quarters became a private house. Thomas Willement restored both the house and the nearby church when he bought them in 1845. Davington Priory is now best-known for being the home of Bob Geldof.

Peacock butterfly on a buddleia bush
The butterflies were out in full force today and there were painted ladies, large whites, peacocks, a gatekeeper and a small copper on this plant during the course of the afternoon.
