The junction with City Way and New Road is just behind. Some handsome old houses line this stretch of the road. This is the A2, a major route through the Medway Area.

It is always good to see traditional businesses surviving and this shoe repair and key cutting shop is located at 2 Foord Street. It seems likely that the premises would at one time have been the usual 'corner shop' general store.
