The Conductor
Before buses were one-man operated and they had open rear platforms (Image]) for passengers to enter and exit, a second crew member was needed in addition to the driver to collect fares etc. The bus conductor. Here, the conductor is issuing (free) tickets on the heritage shuttle service between the Transport Museum on Boyle Street and the Museum of Science and Industry as part of the 2012 Heritage Open Days. Heritage bus on Boyle Street
This Manchester Corporation 3520 (TNA 520) is a 34-seater Leyland Titan PD2 double-decker bus dating from 1958. It is returning home to the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport having been used as a free shuttle bus to Manchester Museum of Science and Industry Image as part of the Heritage Open Weekend.

Heritage Buses on Boyle Street
A selection of buses from the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport collection, on display outside the museum in the former bus depot on Boyle Street. From left to right, they are: • W Alexander & Sons PA164 (CWG 206) a Leyland PS1 Single deck coach from 1950 • Ashton-under-Lyne Corporation Passenger Transport 44 (PTE 944C), a Leyland Titan PD2/37 double deck bus from 1965 • Oldham Corporation Passenger Transport 94 (NBU 494), a Leyland Titan PD2/20 double deck bus from 1957 • Manchester Corporation Transport 3629 (UNB 629), a Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 double deck bus from 1960 • A Mayne & Son 8860 VR, an AEC Regent V 2D3RA double deck bus, from 1964 • (mostly obscured) Stockport Corporation Transport Leyland Titan PD3/14 double decker bus from 1969 • (along the wall) North Western224 (CDB 224), a Leyland Titan PD2/1 double-decker bus from 1947

Seventy-year old bus on Boyle Street
Ex-North Leyland Titan PD2/1 double-decker (CDB 224), with its blinds set to show the X60 route to Blackpool, stands outside the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport on Boyle Street. This bus was delivered new to the North Western company in 1947 and carries fleet number 224. Immaculately preserved, it is hard to imagine that this bus is more than 70 years old.

Queens Road Bus Depot
At the corner of Queens Road and Boyle Street. Although it's always been known as "Queens Road Bus Garage", the building runs the length of Boyle Street. All vehicular access is via Boyle Street.

Boyle Street, Cheetham Hill
Freight Rover Sherpa 374D minibus (D63 NOF), in the livery of the Bee Line Buzz Company, is parked outside the bus garage on Boyle Street at Cheetham Hill. New in January 1987 to Manchester Minibuses Ltd, better known as The Bee Line Buzz Company who operated services around South and East Manchester and had depots both in Stockport and in Wythenshawe. It is currently preserved in its original condition at the Museum of Transport.
