Bus Turnround, Boyle Street.
Leyland Titan PD2 (registration number PTE 944C), in the livery of Ashton-under-Lyne Corporation Passenger Transport, waits at the bus turnround opposite the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport in Boyle Street, Cheetham Hill. The bus, which originally entered service in 1965, was operating a "heritage bus" shuttle service between the museum and Manchester Victoria (rail) Station.

The Conductor
Before buses were one-man operated and they had open rear platforms (Image]) for passengers to enter and exit, a second crew member was needed in addition to the driver to collect fares etc. The bus conductor. Here, the conductor is issuing (free) tickets on the heritage shuttle service between the Transport Museum on Boyle Street and the Museum of Science and Industry as part of the 2012 Heritage Open Days.
