Queens Road Metrolink Stop, Cheetham Hill
The new tram stop at Queens Road. From 1992, when the Metrolink service started, until the new stop opened, there was a staff-only halt Image] serving the Metrolink system's Queens Road depot at Metrolink House.
Work to convert the staff-only halt into a full tram stop began in September 2013 http://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/news/archive/14359-work-begins-on-latest-metrolink-stop.html . The new stop opened on 16 December 2013
When it opened, The Queen’s Road stop replaced the Woodlands Road Metrolink Station (Image]), as the station closest to Manchester on the Bury line.

Ready for a ride
See Image After having the new vehicles thoroughly explained to them, the visitors were led outside to the depot yard, where car 1002 would take them on a short trip to Crumpsall under its own power.

Queen's Road Tram Stop Construction
Metrolink tram 3023 passes the new tram stop under construction at Queen's Road. Since the Metrolink originally opened in 1992, trams have stopped here as a staff-only halt Image] serving the Metrolink system's Queens Road depot at Metrolink House.
In September 2013, http://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/news/archive/14359-work-begins-on-latest-metrolink-stop.html work began to convert it into a full tram stop. Queen’s Road stop will replace the staff halt; having steps and a lift from the road to both inbound and outbound platforms. At the Manchester (south) end there will be ramps to a foot track level crossing.
When the new station is complete it will replace Woodlands Road Metrolink station as the station closest to Manchester on the Bury line.
