Kersal Moor
Kersal Moor, with St Paul's Church in the background. This is one of the last remaining pieces of open moorland in Salford and has been the site of sporting pursuits (golf, horse-racing), military manoeuvres and public gatherings over the centuries. It is now designated a local nature reserve.

This church, consecrated in 1852, stands at the highest point above sea level in Salford.

St Paul's church, Kersal Moor is Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1386157 It dates from 1851 but following a fire in 1987 the roof was lowered removing an original clerestory. The church has a double spire over 160 feet high. There were also 3 smaller spires at each of the three remaining corners of the tower but they were blown down and never replaced. The church stands at the highest point above sea level in the city of Salford.
