Buile Hill Mansion
The Georgian mansion house, built in 1825-27 and once home of Manchester's first Lord Mayor, is a Grade II listed building within Buile Hill Park. In 2007, plans were submitted for its conversion to a hotel. (http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1000975_mansion_to_become_hotel - Manchester Evening News) but an application for funding from the National Lottery was refused (http://www.salfordonline.com/articles_page/28587-buile_hill_mansion.html Salford On Line) and the house remains currently unused and boarded up.
