Brindleheath Cemetery
This burial ground lies on the site of the original St Thomas's church which was replaced in 1831 with a larger building beyond the distant trees. The railed off area beyond the foreground tree is the first Jewish cemetery in Greater Manchester.

The Manchester "Old" Hebrew Congregation Cemetery
This cemetery is the oldest Jewish institution in Greater Manchester. It is located in Brindleheath, Salford and occupies an area about 3 metres by 5 metres in size. It was leased from a local silk dyer for a peppercorn rent in 1794 and was in use until a new cemetery was opened in nearby Prestwich in 1840. This is a view to the northeast, looking across the Irwell valley beyond the cemetery. Adjacent to the Hebrew cemetery lies Brindleheath Cemetery, formerly the site and burial ground of the original St Thomas's church (replaced in 1831 by a bigger church built nearby)

This road is the A576 from Eccles, and it will reach the Pendleton roundabout just around this bend. The A6 goes over the top.

The former NatWest branch in Pendleton
Just near St Thomas's Church, visible on the right. Although handy for the industrial estates, this branch was cut off from the shops by the A6 underpass.
