Canal Remnant
The channel of the erstwhile Manchester, Bury & Bolton canal is barely visible for much of its length. This remnant is isolated and inaccessible as the towpath is closed.

The Salford arm did continue up to the River Irwell in Manchester, but this is now the end of the canal which is not infilled.

End of the towpath at Agecroft
The Salford arm of the Manchester Bolton & Bury Canal is infilled - heading towards Salford - from this point onwards. The towpath ends at Park House Bridge Road, the road behind the railings.

Pendlebury from the air
The distinctive shape of HM Prison Forest Bank can be seen near the centre of the photo. The large buildings in the foreground are at Agecroft Commerce Park. The River Irwell cuts diagonally through the scene. Part of Prestwich can be seen to the top right.
