Manchester Ship Canal, Cargill?s Sweeteners Plant
Cargill’s plant at Trafford Park is a production facility that employs around 300 people. It is part of the Cargill starches and sweeteners business which produces sweeteners and wheat proteins for food customers. These include customers in the confectionery, brewing, beverage, dairy and bakery sectors. In addition to the food sector, the Manchester plant also serves the needs of the farming and aquaculture sectors with animal feed products and vital wheat gluten (http://www.cargill.co.uk/en/locations/manchester/ Cargill UK).
