Here, on the banks of the Ashton Canal, is an interesting development incorporating both the old and the new. Many examples of industrial, canalside apparatus have been retained, along with the branches and basins that served the original warehouses and factories.

Dominion Chapel International
According to a now defunct website "Prior to founding Dominion Chapel International Pastor Daniel served as an Assistant Pastor for Christian Action Faith Ministries in Ghana, Germany and South London. He moved to Manchester with his family in 1997 and set up Dominion Chapel International in 1999 at Openshaw East Manchester. The church began with a congregation of 5 adults and 4 children but soon out-grew its building and moved to Ancoats". Dominion Chapel International became affiliated to Pentecostal Church of God (PCG) in 2012 and was joined together with The Discipleship Church of God in London and Living Word Ministry Church http://www.livingword-ministry.org/ Hull to form PCG (Pentecostal Church of God) UK. Former Ardwick and Ancoats Dispensary, Mill Street
Most of the Victorian mills, factories and warehouses in the area have been demolished or renovated into modern apartments or office spaces by developers ‘Urban Splash’. The building viewed here, covered in scaffolding, is the former Ancoats Hospital on Mill Street. Comparison with Image], a photograph taken in May 2010, before it became completely wrapped in scaffolding, shows how much the building has deteriorated since then.
