Here, on the banks of the Ashton Canal, is an interesting development incorporating both the old and the new. Many examples of industrial, canalside apparatus have been retained, along with the branches and basins that served the original warehouses and factories.

Stubbs Mill
This former mill was derelict in 2012 Image It was originally home to the manufacturing company of Joseph Stubbs, a business that specialised in making textile machinery and dates from 1880. https://manchesterhistory.net/manchester/tours/tour15/area15page50.html In 2016 Image it was in the process of being converted by the ubiquitous developers, Urban Splash. into 27,500 sq ft of workspace which is now fully let to global sports brand Fanatics, who base hundreds of staff here. https://www.urbansplash.co.uk/regeneration/projects/stubbs-mill The building in the background is Milliners Wharf on the other side of the Ashton Canal.
