Development, Great Ancoats Street, Manchester
More accurately, lack of development. It has been stalled for so long that the whole structure is coated with rust. It should be flats, proper flats with walls and everything. Initially christened Sarah Point, under a new name, Nuovo, the target completion date is mid-2012.

The Guardian of Ancoats
This mural of a huge tropical bird on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and Blossom Street is a striking piece of street art titled “Guardian of Ancoats” by Brazilian street artist Mateus Bailon. It was created in December 2014 (http://blackoutgallery.com/manchester-mural/ Black Out Gallery).

The street forms part of the A665. There are many new commercial buildings in this part. Further along, towards the city centre, a lot of Victorian buildings survive, but it's not the most salubrious of areas.
