Sedgley Park RUFC
Rugby Union club founded in 1932. Apparently the idea for the club came from Sedgley Park which is a few miles nearer to Manchester, but they have always played here in the vicinity of Whitefield. They currently play in National Division 1.

North Lodge Philips Park
Main vehicular entrance to the 200 hectare Prestwich Forest park. Philips park was the home of the Philips family http://www.bleasdales.eclipse.co.uk/prestwichguide/where/history/park.htm from the late 18th century until 1948. The north lodge was built from the remains of Outwood Lodge which was demolished towards the end of the 19th century.
