Concord Suite
The Concord Suite was originally the offices of Droylsden Council before the town became part of Tameside Metropolitan Borough. For many years it housed the Greater Manchester Pension Fund. They have now moved to purpose built premises Image across the way. Future council plans for the building appear to be mainly based on its use as offices. The clock in the foreground was originally installed as part of the "Droylsden in Bloom" project in 2000. It was removed in 2010 when the square, which is named after Droylsden's twin-town in France, was closed and renovated during Metrolink construction work. The clock was restored and re-erected in 2012 to commemorate the reopening of Villemomble Square.

The Droylsden Centre and the Concord Suite, Droylsden
The Droylsden Centre is a shopping centre with unfortunately quite a few empty units. Those which are occupied are mainly budget shops and a pawnbrokers. Behind is the white building known as the Concord Suite. Once it was home to Droylsden Council, but they were long ago abolished, following one of the many local government re-organisations in this area. Photographed from Market Street.
