Shudehill Interchange, Manchester
When Manchester's Metrolink tram system first opened in April 1992, its tracks ran over waste ground past this point, without any station. But the station, together with the later bus station, now provides convenient interchange for an increasing number of passengers. Here car no. 1022 is about to leave on a service bound for the city centre.

Bus station, Shudehill Interchange, Manchester
When the Metrolink platforms had been built at Shudehill, a bus station was added, which is larger than it at first appears, because it extends underneath the building at the right. Most services which previously terminated at Cannon Street, Exchange, or Arndale, were transferred here so that a really effective and convenient interchange was created.

Changes at Shudehill
#34 Shudehill next to the Lower Turk's Head used to be Shudehill Book Centre which boasted it was "Manchester's No 1 original book shop". Around 2014 it became Scuttlers wine bar. A single storey building to the right was home to audio visual specialist Central Radio. Peering up behind it was an old building on Back Turner Street which frequently featured a variety of street art images. The low building on Shudehill has now been demolished whilst the building on Back Turner Street has been gutted and will be transformed into a residential property.
