Davyhulme Millennium Nature Reserve from the air
This now wooded part of the sprawling Davyhulme sewage works complex by the Manchester Ship Canal was closed and converted to a nature reserve in 2000. This was as a direct result of a 1998 European Community Directive which prohibited the dumping of sewage sludge at sea. Davyhulme Park golf course can be seen in the foreground, Boysnope Park golf club can be seen top left.
