Bridgewater Centre, Trafford Park, Manchester
Not far from the Trafford Centre, on the edge of Trafford Park, by the side of the Bridgewater Canal. This centre is a small part of a much larger area now given over to units such as these. During the first half of the Twentieth Century Trafford Park was a major industrial area devoted, in the main, to heavy industry and large factories employing thousands of people.

Another tame heron
The herons along the Bridgewater Canal were incredibly tame. This was the fourth one that we passed in two days that did not fly away as we approached on a boat, but turned to face us and stayed put on the towpath.
Are herons becoming more tame? A few years ago this would not have happened.
