Red Lion Public House Flixton
When pupils at school talk of going to the Red Lion, they are describing the road junction where Irlam Road and Woodsend Roads meet. The local bus services also go to the Red Lion. The term is also used to describe the area of shops near to the public house.

Flixton House
Ralph Wright wealthy landowner in Flixton built the house and gardens in 1806, and were then acquired by the council 1935 (now Trafford MB) who then opened them to the public.
