Newton Heath, Failsworth and Moston from the air

Black Poplars, Brookdale Park, Newton Heath
Widely planted in parks in this area during Victorian times (and sometimes known as "Manchester poplars"), these trees are thought to be reaching the end of their lives and many have been felled in this park as they were deemed to be in a dangerous condition.
