Adelphi House, The Crescent, Salford
A building with an interesting history. Originally built in 1808 as a 2-storey, 5-bay house, it passed into the hands of a community of nuns in 1853, becoming a convent and school. The additional storey in brick and terracotta was added by c.1900, and the building continued as a Catholic school until the late 20th century. It has since become part of the University of Salford.

River Irwell at Salford Crescent
This picture is looking north and downstream. This section is one leg of several large meanders that the river takes before entering Manchester (which is only a few hundred metres away to the east) and "becomes" the Manchester Ship Canal.
