Boundary Stone, Knott Mill Bridge
Against the parapet of the bridge over the river Medlock. The stone marked the boundary between Manchester (St James Ward) and Hulme.

Bridge, Deansgate, Manchester (2)
Gothic, with cusped tracery in the parapet and brick piers with stone quoins. Deansgate station, behind the parapet, was rebuilt in 1896, which may date this bridge.

Hewitt Street, chapels and arches
The spire of an old chapel dominates the view west from Hewitt Street. The arch of the Bridgewater viaduct is to the left while the railway viaduct closes in the view to the right.

Freightliner Class 90, 90041, Deansgate railway station
Hauling an intermodal container train, not in any particular hurry, rolling through Deansgate at about 9:30pm during the summer. The first time I've seen a Class 90 in action in a very long while, though I saw the same locomotive hiding away at Crewe the previous year. See: Image
