Deansgate skyline
Looking down Deansgate, the A56, from the end of St John Street. On the left is long terrace of three or four storey Victorian buildings. At ground level they are occupied by a huge variety of businesses. The long range of 29 units, 235-291 Deansgate are Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1210103?section=official-list-entry Since 2006 the skyline has been dominated by the 47 storey Beetham Tower which until 2018 was the tallest building in Manchester. Now it has been surpassed by the South Tower, one of four in the Deansgate Square development on Owen Street. Three of the four can be seen in this photograph.
