Congregational Church House, Deansgate, Manchester
Rather attractive, but not traditionally churchy. Of Portland stone. Plenty of Baroque flourishes such as the domed tower, arched windows, round windows, emphatic keystones, and cartouches. Built 1909-11 to the designs of Bradshaw & Gass.

Overseas House, Quay Street, Manchester
By Leach, Rhodes & Walker, 1974. Dark-brown brick with curious overhanging stone ribs and what looks like a giant up-ended exhaust pipe at the corner.
The offices are currently occupied by Manchester City Council.

Bell Lyre
The bell lyre (or bell lyra) is a form of glockenspiel commonly used in marching bands. Here, it is being played by a member of the Air Training Corps Marching Band taking part in the Manchester Day Parade along Deansgate.
