Crossley Gas Engine, Museum of Science and Industry
The Power Hall at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) is housed in a former railway transit shed built in 1855 for the London & North Western Railway Company. It is a Grade II listed building (English Heritage List Entry Number: 1291458 http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=1291458&resourceID=5 Heritage Gateway) used to exhibit examples of different power sources (water, electricity, steam, gas and jet engines). This is a close up of one of the exhibits in the Power Hall. It is a gas engine manufactured ca1886 by the Manchester engineering company of Crossley Brothers .
