Checkout queue at Morrisons
During the coronavirus pandemic the nature of supermarket shopping has changed. Here at Morrisons in Denton you cannot queue at individual checkouts. Now you have to join a queue around three aisles. When you get to the end you are allocated use of the next free checkout. You can jump the queue slightly if you elect to use the scan-it-yourself checkout once that becomes free.

Hat Town
One of the giant hats on the Hats Off To Denton Sculpture Trail. Located inside the entrance foyer of Morrisons, Hat Town is a celebration of Denton's heritage as a global centre for the hatting industry. Incorporating the factories which are still local landmarks, the names of some of the over 80 hatting companies in Denton at the industry's peak as well as the different hat styles the factories designed and made. The sculpture is the work of Gordon Banks, a Tameside based freelance visual artist and a street theatre producer/performer. With a passion for community arts, Gordon was delighted to design and paint a hat for the Hats Off to Denton trail. Before working on this project, he was unaware of the town's hatting history and has enjoyed finding out more about his local area.
