Portrait Bench at Sale
According to the plaque on the wall "The characters for this Portrait Bench chosen by your community celebrate Sustrans winning a nationwide vote in 2007 to create new walking and cycling routes across the UK, funded by the Big Lottery Fund". This one was erected in June 2010 and features Dr Charles White (1728-1813) co-founder of Manchester Royal Infirmary, Darren Campbell MBE the Olympic sprinter and William "Bill" Bleasdale a founder member of Watch House Cruising Club.
