Stretford station buildings
Viewed from one of the Metrolink trams that now ply the route between Manchester and Altrincham, the station itself was originally built by the Manchester South Junction and Altrincham Railway in 1849 with four tracks. The western pair of tracks was removed in the 1960s, and you can still see where they ran beneath the station building. That building has not been used for railway purposes since Metrolink took over the line in 1992. See Image for a street-facing view.

Stretford railway (now Metrolink) station, Greater Manchester
Opened in 1849 by the Manchester South Junction & Altrincham Railway, at one time this was a four-platform station. Transferred to Metrolink in 1992. View south west towards Dane Road and Altrincham.
