The Three Sisters
The Three Sisters nature reserve off Rutland Road, Ellesmere Park. This area contains three ponds which seem to have merged. It is a designated Site of Biological Interest and is thought to contain the longest surviving section of Roman Road (about 100m long) in the Greater Manchester area. The structure crossing the pond is a derelict boardwalk.

Westminster Road, Ellesmere Park
Rutland Road crosses Westminster Road in Ellesmere Park, Eccles. Ellesmere Park was developed in the 1870s for the Victorian middle class of this area to the west of Manchester. Many of the large houses have been converted into flats since the 1960s as the cost of maintaining them as family houses has increased.
