Underneath the M60
The bridgewater Canal heads west from Worsley towards Leigh and passes underneath the M60. The pillars of the bridge have concrete sloping sections which are now closed off with these gates and grills. We speculated that these had been added to prevent explosives being placed right up under the bridge.
