Pevsner picked this out as one of the best and most complete late-C19th cast-iron shop-fronts surviving on this street. Slender, twisted cast-iron columns and decorative frieze. Grade II listed.

Equality & Fraternity on King Street
One time bastion of Manchester shopping, this Liberty shop was their first outside London and opened here in 1955. Sadly, all the regional stores closed from 1996 and people had to look elsewhere for those fabulous fabrics.
