Footbridge in the River
The footbridge which used to cross the Irwell between Lomax Street and Outwood Road, was swept away by the force of the flood water which raged through here the previous day. A section of it lies partially submerged downstream.

Hanging slate work, Rupert Street
The end of this terrace of houses has very unusual and decorative slate-cladding for protection from the elements. While hanging slates are fairly common, this level of deliberate decoration is exceptional and to be congratulated.

Abundant yellow
A series of colourful highlights create a novel image in a drab area at the foot of Outwood Road. The yellow barriers appear to be protecting a temporary drain which has been in place since the catastrophic floods of December 2015.
