Manchester Icons Mural, Nag's Head Roof Terrace
The roof garden at The Old Nags Head contains a tribute featuring many famous Greater Manchester faces. From musical icons Morrissey and Marr to celebrated wordsmiths John Cooper Clarke and Lemn Sissay, the mural is a celebration of some of the region’s most revered artists. Maxine Peake, Emmeline Pankhurst, Noel Gallagher, The Stone Roses, Jean Alexander, Steve Coogan and Frank Sidebottom are among others to feature in the artwork. One of the pub’s chimneys was already dedicated to Northern Irish Reds’ legend George Best. It's now been joined by a chimney depicting Factory Records’ co-founder and Haçienda boss Tony Wilson.
