By Charles Heathcote for the Northern Rock Building Society, 1895. Superficially symmetrical - subverting symmetry was a popular Victorian trick. They knew how to enjoy themselves. Two prominent Dutch gables and lots of fairly low-key decorative touches. Grade II listed.

Trams on Cross Street, Metrolink Second City Crossing
After three years of construction work, the final section of the Metrolink Second City Crossing through Manchester City Centre, between Exchange Square and St Peter's Square was opened to carry passengers on Sunday, 26 February 2017. Here, two Metrolink Bombardier trams number pass on Cross Street, near the junction with King Street. Tram number 3116 is heading towards the camera, on the route to East Didsbury whilst tram number 3084 is heading away from the camera towards Exchange Square on its way towards Rochdale.
