Former Reform Club, King Street, Manchester
A sumptuous essay in Venetian Gothic. At each end are marvellous oriels culminating in turrets with spiky projections (Image]). The first floor has a row of large windows with stripy pointed arches. By Edward Salomons, 1870-71. Grade II* listed. It is now a bar and restaurant, and possibly a club too, though, sadly, no longer one likely to be frequented by prodigiously-whiskered Victorian gents.

Reform Club
The prominent Manchester architect Edward Salomans collaborated with John Philpot-Jones to build this Venetian styled sandstone building. It was the home of the Reform Club from 1871. The Club merged with the Engineers' Club in 1967, to form the Manchester Club, but eventually the Reform Club closed in 1988. The building then became the home of the upmarket Reform Restaurant. Since 2011 one of the occupants has been Liam Gallagher's "Pretty Green" clothing shop. http://manchesterhistory.net/manchester/tours/tour5/area5page52.html Now the Grade II listed building https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101282987-former-reform-clubmanchester-club-city-centre-ward is home to the Grand Pacific restaurant.

Browns restaurant
This fine Baroque building dates from 1902, designed by Charles Heathcote, for Parr's Bank, later part of the National Westminster group. After the bank closed it became a pub called the Atheneum. It now houses an expensive restaurant, part of a rather superior national chain. This is a grade II listed building. See https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1255042
