Tesco Distribution Depot
Tesco's former northwest chilled food distribution depot on the Stakehill Industrial Estate near Middleton.
It used to operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week supplying fresh food to its stores
in North Wales and the Northwest of England.
All this came to an end in July 2010 when the depot closed down with all operations being transferred to a new Tesco distribution depot near Widnes operated by the Stobart Group.

Choc Ices all round on Boarshaw Lane
An example of fly tipping on this pleasant lane between Royton and Middleton. This is an old chest freezer from a local shop fly tipped by local lazy bones - allegedly. And there are plenty of them around these parts - allegedly.
