Northenden railway station (site), Greater Manchester
Opened in 1866 on the Cheshire Line Committee's line from Stockport to Altrincham, this station closed to passengers in 1964 and completely in 1965. View east towards Cheadle North and Stockport Tiviotdale. The main building was to the left of the line, in front of the signalbox.

Cheshire Rambler Railtour ? Northenden station
The locomotive is running round its train. The line is still open to passenger services between Manchester and Chester, but the station closed in 1964 and the buildings have been demolished.

Industrial Premises, Longley lane, Sharston
The sign outside identifies this building as belonging to the "Branagan Flooring Services Ltd - Flooring Supplies". It must have changed hands fairly recently, as when the Google Streetview car was visiting, the building belonged to "Manchester Timber Company" ( http://g.co/maps/nbhkg ). More interesting, however, is the panel (Image]) above the door commemorating William Morris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Morris ) the prominent nineteenth century socialist and textile designer - probably some connection with the building's original owners.
