Traffic Signal manhole lid
Lightweight steel manhole cover, in the pavement, for the traffic lights at the junction of Barlow Moor Road and Derwent Avenue. It must be a real maze of tunnels under this junction - the pavements seem to be half iron covers on the corner. This is close to Image

Power tap
Alongside Image are these two smaller boxes, which lack any identifying marks. The taller one, by comparison with other locations is almost certainly for the 240V supply. It gives the electricity company a point of isolation without opening someone else's cubicle. The smaller one looks very hard to work on. I wonder if it is a phone company box for the remote telemetry.
