The Vale Cottage
Parts of the pub date from the 17th century. In 1899 it was acquired by Henry Cardwell's brewery and later became a Wilsons house. In more recent years it belonged to Enterprise Inn who sold it in 2015 when it became a Free House.

Although very close to urbanised Gorton the public house appears to occupy a rural setting. It has recently (October 2015) re-opened under new management.
