Pomona Metrolink Station
An Eccles-bound Metrolink tram leaves the Pomona tram stop. Pomona is the only elevated tram stop on the Metrolink network, sitting at the end of the viaduct over the Manchester Ship Canal. It opened to passengers on 12 June 1999 as part of Phase 2 of the network's expansion to Eccles. A TfGM report in 2015 (http://www.gmtu.gov.uk/reports/transport2015.htm ) indicates that Pomona is currently one of the least used stops on the Metrolink network but it serves the area around the disused Pomona Docks which owned by the Peel Group and is due for massive redevelopment with plans of an apartment complex and leisure facilities lining the waterfront. The stop is also scheduled for development as an interchange station between the Eccles Line and a proposed Trafford Park Line to the Trafford Centre via Trafford Park.
