Alexander House, Talbot Road, Stretford
One of a cluster of substantial post-war office blocks in the Old Trafford area, perhaps part of a drive to attract business in the face of ailing industry. There is a local station, and the nearby A56 runs, in one direction, to what was the Stretford by-pass or M62 when it opened in 1960 (now the M60), and, in the other direction, to central Manchester.

Stretford (Trafford) Town Hall
Trafford Town Hall is a fine building which stands on the north-west corner of Talbot Road and Warwick Road, across from the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. The building was designed by architects Bradshaw Gass & Hope and was built between 1931 and 1933 as a town hall for the Stretford Borough Council.
It was renamed Trafford Town Hall following local government reorganisation in 1974 which led to the formation of the new Trafford Metropolitan Borough
The building is Grade II listed as an “important example of interwar municipal architecture, undertaken with Government assistance during the Depression, and of local municipal pride” (English Heritage Building ID: 496191 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-496191-trafford-town-hall- British Listed Buildings).

Old Trafford Cricket Ground
Old Trafford Cricket Ground has been the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club since its foundation in 1864, having been the ground of Manchester Cricket Club from 1857. International Test matches have been played there since 1884. This makes it "The" Old Trafford as Manchester United only moved to the nearby football Stadium in 1910, making that the "other" Old Trafford.
This is looking at the corner of Warwick Road and Talbot Road.
