Manchester: Rochdale Canal
Looking up the canal from the development on the site of the old Central Station, underneath the Castlefield-Deansgate tram stop. This area has changed radically in the last years of the 20th century: previously the canal slipped disregarded between buildings but much of its course has been opened out now and the areas around it regenerated.

Tiled Staircase
Described in the NHLE listing as a "Dog-leg staircase with barley-sugar balusters." I think it a shame that the tiles did not get a mention. This sumptuous tiled wainscot extends throughout the downstairs corridor to the front door.
